Returning to the Practice - Thank You for Showing Me the Path
Like the author, my foundations in meditation was in transcendental meditation, only my practice of that goes back to when I was at university in the late 60’s. Of course, now it is fifty years later and I am in my seventies. But meditation is truly a practice for all ages. I continue prayer walking, but I have fallen out of my practice of quiet meditation like that which the author prescribes. My life is busy, but this book forces myself to admit that it can never be too busy for this, or at least it shouldn’t be. Perhaps my greatest praise of this book is that her simple straight-forward approach has re-opened my eyes to what I have been missing. And as a result, the first thing I did this morning was to follow her recommendation for twenty minutes of quiet meditation. Twenty minutes I can easily invest towards a calmer, more focused start to the day.

I loved From Stressed to Blessed. The author does a wonderful job of guiding the reader through how to meditate, along with encouraging words on how meditation is helpful. It’s easy to read and
understand, but most importantly it will help you practice meditation in 5 simple steps! I recommend for anyone who is new to meditation or those more advanced who need a gentle reminder of how and why meditation is important.

Cynthia Chase offers us a wonderfully simple way to learn meditation. My life is busy and this book was perfect for me because I was able to read it and immediately begin practicing what she teaches us. This book is one of the best in the business of starting your meditation jourey. Cynthia starts with her life story and background as a psychology grad student trying (and failing) to balance everything at once before discovering meditation and its life-changing effects. After this deeply personal introduction she dives into five clearly headed chapters containing the five steps that she used to guide you through meditation and mindfulness for a more fulfilling life. The steps are small but powerful, and easy to implement, and I would recommend this book to beginners and meditation experts alike! 5 stars!
